Exam Pattern

  • GATE consists of 65 questions which carries a maximum of 100 marks.
  • The duration for GATE exam is 3 hours.
  • GATE exam will be carried in an online computer based test (CBT) mode
  • The questions which are asked in GATE will be of MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) types.
  • For wrong answer, 1 mark MCQ 1/3 mark will be deducted, for 2 marks multiple choice questions 2/3 marks will be deducted for the wrong answer.

The AE topics divided into two categories: core topics & special topics. 90% questions will be asked from the core topics & 10% remaining questions will come from special topics.
