JNAFAU Entrance Exam Pattern & Syllabus 2020: Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University, Hyderabad is conducting Entrance Exam for JNAFAU Admissions into the Four Year Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A) and also for Bachelor of Design (B.Design) Courses, offered for the Academic Year 2020-21. JNAFAU Entrance Exam PatternPAPER A – Memory drawing and coloring (Only for B.F.A – Applied Art, Painting, Sculpture & Animation)
  • Drawing from memory: Day to day life, consisting of the human form, engaged in any activity, surrounded by nature, animals, birds, and manmade or natural environment. Example:
    • 1) Potter at the wheel under a tree with an animal nearby
    • 2) Vegetable or fruit market
    • 3) Railway station
    • 4) Bus stop
    • 5) Roadside vendors etc
  • The Skill tested through this drawing are
    • Memory drawing and coloring skills
    • b) Handling of Color pencils as a medium
    • c) Choice of color scheme
    • d) Application methods
    • e) Compositional sense and perspective of the landscape.
PAPER B – Common Objective Type Paper (B.F.A – Applied Art, Painting, Sculpture & Animation)
  • This Paper will have 50 Multiple Choice Questions in the below pattern.
    • GK & Current Affairs  :           15 Questions
    • English                     :           15 Questions
    • General Art Oriented  :           20 Questions
PAPER C – Object Drawing (Only for B.F.A – Applied Art, Painting, Sculpture & Animation)
  • A single object will be placed in front of the candidates and they will be required to draw and render it in pencils by observation, without the use of a ruler or any mechanical devices.
  • The Skill tested through this drawing are
    • Drawing skills
    • Compositional sense
    • Understanding of the form, volume and surface textures of the object
    • Ability to create a three-dimensional effect on a two-dimensional surface, through light and shade with lead pencils of various grades.
PAPER D – Composition & Visual Communication (Only for B.F.A – Photography)
  • The paper consists of three parts
    • Tests drawing and compositional skills
    • Rendering in lead pencils to give the effect of light and shade.
    • Completing a given diagram by adding and drawing appropriate objects.
PAPER E – Objective Type Paper (B.F.A – Photography)
  • This Paper will have 50 Multiple Choice Questions in the below pattern.
    • GK & Current Affairs  :           15 Questions
    • English                     :           15 Questions
    • General Art Oriented  :           20 Questions
PAPER F – Only for B.Design (Interior Design)
  • This paper has 6 parts,
    • GK & Current Affairs                           :           20 Marks
    • General Art                                        :           20 Marks
    • Communication Skills                          :           50 Marks
    • Illustrative, Analytical & Design Ability  :           50 Marks
    • Memory Drawing                                 :           30 Marks
    • Color co-ordination                              :           30 Marks

Finally, for Paper A and also for Paper C – ¼ size of crystal drawing paper sheet. For Paper A – No choice will be given and also Color pencils are allowed. Moreover, Watercolors and others are not allowed.
