About Jai Prakash University
Jai Prakash University (JPV) is a university in Chhapra, Bihar, India. It was established by the Government of Bihar in response to the needs of the people of Saran commissionary. The university was named in memory of freedom fighter Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan. The university is recognized by the UGC as a state university and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities, having jurisdiction over the Saran Division, comprising the three districts of Saran, Siwan, and Gopalganj. The university has 21 constituent colleges and 11 affiliated colleges, with a College of Engineering to be established soon. There are altogether 21 constitute Colleges, 11 affiliated colleges of which 2 are deficit Grant Colleges (including one minority college).
