ssc.nic.in @ SSC Junior Engineer JE 2019 Paper I & II Eligibility Details

Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or Institution. Three years Diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering from an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government. Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute or University or Board; and Two years experience in Planning, Execution, and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.

Scheme of Examination

The Examination will consist of two papers i.e. Paper-I (Computer Based Examination) and Paper-II (Descriptive Type). Details of these Papers are as follows.
In Paper-I and Paper-II for General Engineering, the candidate will be required to attempt
only the part as per option is given in the application form filled by the candidate. In other words, the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil), Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contracts) should attempt Part A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Electrical) should attempt Part-B (Electrical) and the candidates appearing for the post of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) should attempt Part C (Mechanical) of Paper-I and Paper-II failing which his/ her answer sheet (PaperII) will not be evaluated.

  • The written test will comprise two papers carrying a total 500 marks i.e. PAPER I – 200 marks and PAPER-II – 300 marks.
  • Paper-I will be objective type whereas Paper-II conventional type.
  • The time allowed for each paper will be 02:00 hours separately (2 hours and 40 minutes for the candidates who are allowed the use of scribe).
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper – I.

IDENTITY VERIFICATION for SSC Junior Engineer JE 2019 Paper I & II

The original certificates/documents of successful candidates will be verified for which dates will be notified after the declaration of result. On the basis of written test, the provisionally qualified candidates will be required to produce original certificates of Essential and Desirable Qualifications along with one set of photocopy, duly attested,
The candidate’s identity will be verified with respect to his/her details on the call letter and in the Attendance List. If the identity of the candidate is in doubt the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the Online Examination.

Tips for preparation of written examination

  • All candidates should give maximum time to their study regularly.
  • Candidates should make their study time or schedule of the day and accordingly start to preparing i.e. make sure to divide your entire time between all related subjects and prepare accordingly daily.
  • Candidates require to maximum use of flow charts and diagram to understand deeply the concerned topic.
  • Candidates must regularly practice solving old year examination papers; with this, you will be able to increase your knowledge as well as time accuracy.
  • Group study is very useful to crack any written examination so we, therefore, advise all concern contenders to make a group of eligible and suitable friends and study combinedly one or two hours in a day and arise your question before them and explain your answer to others too.
  • Time breaks are also essential while preparing hard for any written examination so after 2-3 hours study candidates should take a break of 15-20 minutes for mind fresh.
