About NTA UGC NET 2019 December

National Testing Agency (NTA) shall conduct the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) to the post of Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor in India Universities and Colleges. In 2018 onwards, NTA will conduct the UGC NET examination. UGC NET is a national level examination.

Eligibility Criteria for UGC NET December 2019

Candidates are advised to read carefully the eligibility criteria before starting to apply the NTA UGC NET Application form. There is some eligibility of UGC NET examination has described below.

  • Students who have secured at least 55% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent examination from UGC recognized universities/institutions (Social Science, Computer Science and Applications, Electronic Science, etc.)
  • The Other Backward Classes (OBC Non-Creamy-Layer), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Person with Disability (PwD), Transgender category candidates must secure at least 50% marks in Master’s degree.
  • Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying final year exam and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed can also apply.

Age Limit and Relaxation

1). JRF: Not more than 30 years as on 01.06.2019

Note: Relaxation of 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC / SC / ST / PwD. THREE years relaxation will be permissible in age for the candidates of LL.M degree.

2). Assistant Professor:

There is no upper age limit for the post of Assistant Professor.

3). Exemption for Assistant Professor

  • NET/SET/SLET will remain the minimum eligibility condition for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
  • A candidate who has passed the UGC/CSIR/JRF exams prior to 1989 are also exempted from appearing in the National Eligibility Test.

UGC NET Exam 2019 December Application Form

Students who have met the eligibility criteria as mentioned as above they may start to fill the application form for UGC NET December 2019. The application form will be available to fill on from 9th September 2019 to 9th October 2019. Application filling process can be explained as the following stages.

Step 1: Registration

Students should register themselves for UGC NET December 2019 exam in the official portal of UGC NET. In Registration stage, applicants should provide their basic details such as the full name, email address, mobile number, etc., After submitting, the generated application number and password will be sent to the registered email id and mobile number. Throughout the examination communication will be only in the email id and the registered mobile number. Students should log in the valid credentials on the UGC NET official page to fill the application form of UGC NET December 2019.

Note: Only one email address and one mobile number are valid for one application.

Step 2: How to fill the UGC NET 2019 December Application Form

Students should log in on the UGC NET official site. Candidates are advised to keep in hand the original documents at the time of filling the online application form. In this stage, aspirants should provide the personal details like Name, Father and Mother name, DOB, Gender, Category, etc. After that, they have to fill the examination related details like applied for the post of, NET subject selection, choosing the examination city. Students can submit the entered details after the verification have been confirmed by them.

Step 3: Upload Image and Signature

In this stage, applicants should upload their photograph and signature. The candidate photograph size must be between 10kb to 200kb and the signature size must between 4kb to 30kb. The photograph must be taken on or after 01.03.2019 indicating clearly the name of the candidate along with the date of taking. Candidate should scan his/her photograph and signature for the uploading process.

Note: Candidate should check and ensure that the uploaded images are clear and proper.

Step 4: Print the Confirmation Page

After uploading the photo and signature, candidates are redirected into payment gateway for paying the application fees. In this stage, students should pay the exam fees as per their respective category in the online mode. After the successful payment, students must printout the confirmation page. Students are advised to keep safe the application name and password until throughout the examination.

UGC NET Exam Pattern 2019

UGC NET exam will consist of two papers. These two papers will consist of objective type questions. The exam will consist of both the papers that are conducted in two different sessions. There is no break between the two exams (Paper – 1 & Paper – 2) during the examination time.

UGC NET Exam and Marking Scheme

The question pattern may be varying from the selected subjects by the candidates. There are totally two papers. All the questions are compulsory should be answered by the candidates. There are no marks will be given for the unattempt/marked for review questions.

The marking scheme of the question pattern is described as follows. Each correct response the candidate will get two marks from each paper. There are no negative marks for an incorrect response.

UGC NET 2019 Syllabus

The questions will be in generic in nature, intending to assess the teaching and research aptitude of the candidate. It shall primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. The candidate may note that the syllabus has been modified and the new syllabus has been notified through a public notice on the NTA official website.

UGC NET Paper – 2 Syllabus 2019

Paper – 2 syllabuses will be based on the selected subjects by the candidates. Approximately there are totally more than 80 subjects in the list of subjects of UGC NET exam.
