CBSE Board’s Recent Developments in Board Exam 2020 for its Students

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the topmost education Board of India. CBSE has made several announcements regarding Board Exam 2020 and Registration of Students for the Exam in recent months. Board’s announcements like the Hike of the Examination Fees for the Students, Two-level Examination of Mathematics Subject, Change in Exam Pattern i.e. reduction of Descriptive Questions and increase in Objective Questions, Guidelines for Registration of Student Details for Board Examination 2020 and No acceptance of Subject Change for Class 10,12. These Updates are majorly for Class IX, X, XI, XI Students.

Hike of the Examination Fees

Recently CBSE Board made an announcement that it hiked the Examination fee for the Classes X and XII. CBSE says this hike of the Exam fees done after five years and for all Category Students.  This hike is applicable to all Schools affiliated in India and abroad. For SC/ST Students new fees were 1200 for five subjects and for General students it was 1500 for five subjects. For Students in abroad, they have to pay 10,000 for 5 subjects now.

In a Recent Development According to a circular released by Directorate of Education NCT Delhi, Deputy Chief Minister said Delhi Government will pay the Examination Fees for all Class X and Class XII Students. Heads of the Government, Government aided Schools in Delhi are advised not to collect the hiked Exam Fees of CBSE from Students. However, after two days on Direction of HRD Ministry CBSE decided to restore to the earlier practice of Charging Rs.50 from SC/ST Students appearing for Class X, XII exams in Delhi Government Schools.

CBSE Two-level Examination of Mathematics

CBSE had decided to conduct two-level examinations for Mathematics Subject in Class X Board Exam 2020. There will be two level of exams the first level is Basic Mathematics can be taken by the students who don’t want to pursue Mathematics after Class 10. The second level exam is Standard Level this can be taken by the students who are going to have Mathematics as one of their Subjects in higher studies. This move will reduce the pressure on students.

Change in Exam Pattern

Board has recently made some changes in examination pattern of Class 10 and 12. It increased the Number of Objective Questions and reduced the descriptive Questions for most subjects. CBSE has introduced Internal Assessment/Practical’s for all Subjects and also it reduced the number of Questions in Major Subjects. These Changes in Exam pattern will come into effect from Board Examinations 2020.

CBSE Guidelines for Registration of Student Details

CBSE has proposed new guidelines for Schools & Students regarding Registration of Student Details. Board asked students to provide correct details of them during registration for the Board Examination it is very difficult to change the details after uploading them in the online portal as it will lead to the new identity. So CBSE asked Schools to be very careful and restrain students for asking corrections regarding their Details. Board also said there will be no change of Subjects after Students Choosing in Class 10 & 12.

Advancement of the Registration Process

CBSE Board recently released a circular regarding advancement of registration of regular students of class IX/XI and Submission of List of Candidates (Loc) for Regular Candidates of Class X and XII. Schools asked to verify the Correctness of the Students Details before uploading them in the OASIS portal. Schools need to submit data before 30 September after that penalty will be applicable.
