Criterion 2 – Age limit

Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1994. Five years relaxation will be provided to the categories of SC, ST, and PwD candidates.

Criterion 3 – Number of Attempts

A candidate can attend the JEE advanced examination maximum of two times in two consecutive years.

Criterion 4 – Qualifying or Equivalent Examination

A candidate should have appeared in the Class XII examination or its equivalent examination with a minimum of 75% marks (65% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) for the first time in either 2019 or 2020.

Criterion 5 – Earlier Admission at IITs

  • A candidate should not have been admitted in an IIT irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program or accepted an IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past.
  • Candidate whose admission at IITs was cancelled after joining any IIT is also not eligible to appear in JEE Advanced 2020.
  • The Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2019 can appear in JEE Advanced 2020.

Step 1: Registration

Candidates must register themselves to the JEE Advanced 2020 examination in the online mode at the official page @ https://jeeadv.ac.in/. In this stage, applicants should provide a valid email id and mobile number for registering purposes. After submitting the basic details in the registration stage, the unique application number and password will be sent to the registered email address. Then, candidates will submit the personal, educational details, and choosing the examination city in the application form after login with the system generated application number at the time of the registration process.

Step 2: Upload the Necessary Documents

Applicants should upload the scanned images of their educational and other relevant documents at the time of form filling. In this stage, candidates should have to upload their recent passport size photograph and signature. The scanned images size should be a maximum of 300 KB. Question Pattern & Marking Scheme of JEE Advanced 2020

There are a total of 54 questions per each paper in the exam pattern of JEE Advanced 2020 examination. Candidates are compulsory to attend both papers during the examination time. There will be negative marks for the incorrect answers and there are no marks that will be provided for the non attempt questions.

Each question papers shall consist of three separate sections i.e., Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The question papers will consist of objective type questions designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.

JEE Advanced Admit Card 2020

JEE Advanced admit card will be released in the online mode for the candidates who have submitted the application form. Students may download their JEE Advanced Hall Ticket from the official page of JEE Advanced or the IIT Delhi. Approximately the admit card will be available to download in the 2nd week of May 2020. JEE Advanced admit card contains the details about the examination schedule and examiner’s profile.

Aspirants should bring the downloaded admit card along with any one of ID proof (Aadhar/PAN/Driving Licence/Passport) on the examination day at the allotted exam centre. No candidate will not be permitted to take the test without having the admit card.

JEE Advanced 2020 Counselling / Seat Allotment

Joint Seat Allocation

The seats will be allocated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) at the various IITs, NITs, IIITs, and Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTI). All the qualified candidates can participate in the joint seat allocation process by filling in their choices of courses. JoSAA will be announced separately the schedule of joint seat allocation. All the list of courses will be offered by the IITs for admission will be available at the time of online filling of choices.

Students who are eligible to participate in the counselling process should register themselves on the official page of JoSAA. If the seat will be confirmed by the allotted institution, the aspirant should report the college to confirm the seat availability.
