Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized University.
Note: The candidates who have appeared in the OCSE-2015 or OCSE-2016 or OCSE-2017 but are otherwise ineligible to appear/ compete in the OCSE-2018.

Syllabus for Main Examination

The Main Examination shall consist of the following papers and each paper shall be of three hours duration.

Compulsory papers – 1400 marks
Paper I Odia Language – 300 Marks
Paper II English – 300 Marks
Paper Ill English Essay – 300 Marks
Paper IV General Studies-I – 300 Marks
Paper V General Studies-II – 300 Marks
Optional Papers (Paper VI,VII,VIII & IX) – 1200 marks.

Note: Candidates who obtain such minimum qualifying marks in the Main Examination as may be fixed by the Commission at their discretion shall be called for personality test. The candidates those who are attending for OPSC Civil Service Mains Exam 2018 they need to carry their Hall Ticket to the examination hall. The personality test or interview shall carry 250 Marks and no minimum qualifying marks for personality test or interview shall be fixed.

Exam Pattern for OPSC Civil Service Main 2018

In this, there shall be two papers formed with only objective type questions.
Paper-II will act as a qualification exam where candidates have to secure at least 33% for the evaluation of Paper I.
The time duration of each test will be 02 hours.

On the Day when you appears for written examination

Candidates require reaching at written examination location at least 30 minutes before.
Candidates are not permitting to bring books or other notes with them on examination centers.
Don’t come with your family because no one is permitted to go inside at examination center premises.
Calculator with memory, watches and other electronic item are not allowed to bring at written examination centers.
Candidates make sure to bring Admit Card/Hall ticket before appearing written examination.
Candidates have to bring with them 2 pencils and 2 sharpened.

Candidates should download their admit card before the date of exam.

DENTITY VERIFICATION for OPSC Civil Service Main 2018

The original certificates/documents of successful candidates will be verified for which dates will be notified after declaration of result. On the basis of written test, the provisionally qualified candidates will be required to produce original certificates of Essential and Desirable Qualifications along with one set of photocopy, duly attested,
Candidates are required to come for registration and original certificate verification with duly filled in application in prescribed format, available in the official website: and bring all certificates / testimonials, in original and a set of self attested photocopies of the same, in support of age, qualification and experience, for verification.
