Exam Pattern for OPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam Group A & B
Prelims
Candidates who will qualify the Preliminary Examination shall be called by the Commission, to appear in the Main Examination.
The qualifying marks in the Preliminary Examination shall be such as may be fixed by the Commission.
The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination shall not be counted for ranking. The Main Examination shall comprise Odia Language, English, English Essay, General Studies-I & II papers, two optional subjects having two papers each as prescribed in Scheduled-III.
The personality test or interview shall carry 250 Marks and no minimum qualifying marks for personality test or interview shall be fixed.
Main
In this, there shall be two papers formed with only objective type questions.
Paper-II will act as a qualification exam where candidates have to secure at least 33% for the evaluation of Paper I.
The time duration of each test will be 02 hours.
Exam Centre for Preliminary
There are 5 state zonal centres for the Odisha Civil Services Prelims & Mains Examination. The zonal centres are Balasore, Berhampur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Sambalpur. Applicants during the registration process will be required to choose an exam zone for appearing in the exam. Zones once submitted will not be changed.
DOWNLOADING OF HALL TICKET / ADMIT CARD
SMS and E-mail alerts will be sent to the eligible candidates on the registered mobile number and e-mail ID for downloading the Hall Ticket / Admit card for written examination. On receipt of SMS and E-mail alert, the candidate can login to his/her account with User ID and Password and download the Hall Ticket from the OPSC website www.opsc.gov.in for the Written Examination.
Admit card Important
- Candidates should bring the printout of them admit card in the examination hall.
- Candidates should download their admit card before the date of exam.
- Candidate are advised to validate all the details mentioned on their Admit Card.
- Date, Time and Venue of the Exam will be given on the Admit Card.
- Candidate should bring their Valid ID proof at the time of Exam.
- Candidates are advised to keep their Admit Card safe till the joining. Admit Card will be required at the time of joining.
- Any issue regarding the generation of the admit card can be resolved by contacting the official authorities.
- The candidates should note that the admit card will have some instructions for the exam day and that they should be obeyed by all
IDENTITY VERIFICATION for OPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2019 Group A & B
In the examination hall as well as at the time of interview, the call letter along with original and a photocopy of the candidate’s currently valid photo identity such as Aadhar/PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving Licence/ Voter’s Card/ Bank Passbook with photograph/ Photo identity proof issued by a Gazetted Officer on official letterhead/ Photo identity proof issued by a People’s Representative on official letterhead/ valid recent Identity Card issued by a recognized College/ University/ Aadhar card with a photograph/E-Aadhar Card/ Employee ID/ Bar Council Identity Card with photograph should be submitted to the invigilator for verification.
The candidate’s identity will be verified with respect to his/her details on the call letter, in the Attendance List and requisite documents submitted. If identity of the candidate is in doubt the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the Examination.
The following certificates must be kept ready by the candidates for the purpose of verification.

- Proof of all Educational Qualifications.
- Date of Birth Certificate / S.S.C.
- School Study Certificate.
