Age of the boys should be between 10 to 12 years as on March 31, 2020
Class IX:
The age of the boys should be between 13 to 15 years as on March 31, 2020, and must be studying in Class VIII in a recognized school.

Examination Pattern 2020
AISSEE Examination pattern was updated from 2018. The entrance examination was carried out by OMR Method. The question paper will contain Multiple choice questions (MCQ) with four options. The subjects in which the questions asked for class 6 are Mathematics, General Knowledge (SC &SST), Language, Intelligence. 50 Questions from Mathematics with 3 marks per question, 25 Questions from General Knowledge with 2 marks per question, 25 questions from Language with 2 marks per question, 25 questions form Intelligence with 2 marks per question are asked. Total Number of questions is 125. Total marks are 300. The time allotted for the examination is 150 minutes.
For Class 9 the subjects are Mathematics, English, Intelligence, General Science, Social studies. The marks for each subject is given as 50 questions from Mathematics each question carries 4 marks, 25 questions each from English, Intelligence, General Science, Social studies and each question carries 2 marks. Total marks are 400 and the total dime duration allocated is 180 minutes.

Reservation Policy
- SC Category – 15% of total seats reserved.
- ST Category – 7.5% of total seats reserved.
- Boys from the Bihar State – 67% of remaining seats reserved.
- Boys from other states & Union territories – 33% remaining seats reserved.
- Children of Service personnel & ex-servicemen – 25% of seats are reserved.

Registration fees for the entrance examination should be paid only by online payment.
- For General/Defence Category – Rs.400/-(Rupees Four Hundred Only)
- For SC/ST Category- Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred fifty Only)
Scholarship Scheme
State government and Central Government provides fund for Sainik schools and also provides scholarship to the students. The scholarship is provided to the students of Bihar state domicile by the state government of Bihar.

Income Slab: 5,00,001 to 7,50,000/- Scholarship: Half amount. Half of the Tuition Fee Dietary Charge: 12,685 for a year.
Income Slab: 7,50,001 to 10,00,000/- Scholarship: 1/4th amount. Half of the Tuition Fee Dietary Charge: 12,685 for a year.
Income Slab: 10,00,000/- Scholarship: NIL.
