Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, situated on the lush green Bethany Hills at Nalanchira, was founded on 3rd January 1973 by His Grace the Most Rev. Benedict Mar Gregorios, the late Metropolitan Archbishop of Trivandrum. The Archbishop conceived education as a process ensuring the blending of the salient features of idealism and pragmatism in relation to the environment. His conviction that education is the investment in Human Resource Development prompted him to establish the school.
Sarvodaya School Admission Details 2020
Application forms, complete in all respect, will be received in the morning shift schools from 8.30 AM to 10.30 AM and in the evening shift schools from 2.30 PM to 4.30 PM from 1st week March 2020 (Saturday) to 17-03-201 (Saturday) (both days inclusive) on all working days. Children residing in the vicinity of the school (if a Sarvodaya Vidyalaya is not available in the vicinity, then residents within a radius of 3 km. of the schools) shall be eligible to apply.
Primary Classes will commence from 1st Week April 2020 (Monday) including Nursery, KG and First.
Reservation of seats will be as follows
- 15% seats for Scheduled Caste candidates.
- 5% seats for Scheduled Tribe candidates.
- 3% seats for Physically Handicapped (to be duly certified by a Govt. Hospital).
- 2% for the wards for the employees of the Directorate of Education (1% for the wards of Ministerial staff and 1% for teacher’s wards).

Selection Process
The list of children selected through the draw of lots will be displayed on the School Notice Board on 4th Week March 2020 at 11.00 AM and admission will be done from 4th Week M 2020 . to Last Week March 2020 on submission of requisite documents. Admission of wait listed children will be done from Last Week March 2020 to Last Week April 2020.
In case of selected children, the immunization certificate is to be submitted by the parents/guardians within 6-months from the date of admission.
Selection of candidates will be done by draw of lots which will be held at 11:00 AM in the morning shift schools and 3:00 PM in the evening shift schools on Last Week March 2020 in the presence of parents/guardians.
Note: Admission will not be denied to any specially abled child, destitute child, refugee/asylum seeker, homeless, migrant, orphan or child in need of care & protection in any Govt. school due to non availability of essential documents at the time of submission in the School. Provisional admission for 30 days will be allowed the basis of simple undertaking on plain paper by the parents/guardians. Head of Schools will provide details of such students to CRC.
Document Verification
The following documents are required to be produced by the parent/guardian at the time of admission:
- Details of Date of Birth (anyone):
- Original Date of Birth Certificate issued by MCD or any other local body.
- Anganwadi record.
- Hospital/Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife (ANM) register record.
- An Undertaking by the Parents regarding Date of Birth as per Part-B of the Application Form.
- One passport size photograph of the child.
Anyone of the following documents as residence proof:
- Ration Card issued in the name of parents having name of the child.
- Domicile certificate of child or parents.
- Voter I card of any of the parents.
- Electricity bill/MTNL telephone bill/Water bill.
- Bank Passbook in the name of child or parents.
- Aadhar card of parents/child.
- Passport in the name of any of the parents/child.
