Marks obtained by the candidates for the Paper I-VII only will be counted for merit ranking. UPSC Civil Services Prelims Cut Off | UPSC CSE Preliminary Cut Off Marks

In the Civil Services Examination, the minimum qualifying standards/marks secured by the last recommended candidate in various categories.  The cut off of IAS is the minimum marks to qualify the written tests and eligible for next round of selection procedure i. e. Interview. The IAS Cut off 2019 will be decided by examination authority Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The Civil Services pre-cutoff score of prelims exam will be based on the GS Paper 1 only. However, GS Paper 2 is qualifying in nature.
The cutoff is used for three different stages of UPSC Civil Service Examination 2019 , there are
Prelims – Candidates who qualify in prelims will be selected for mains examination.
Main – Candidates who qualify for mains will be selected for personal interview.
Final – Candidates who qualify in the final stage will be selected for recruitment.
UPSC IAS Cutoff
The Civil Services examination comprises of two papers, there are
Civil Services (GS) Paper 1 and
Civil Services Paper 2
The Preliminary examination of IAS carried total 400 marks. The preliminary examination was conducted to select candidates for the mains examination. Candidates need to secure the IAS cut off 2019 of the preliminary examination, based on which they will be selected for the UPSC mains examination. UPSC will declare the IAS Prelims cutoff after the declaration of final result. The IAS preliminary cut off 2019 will be applied only for GS Paper 1. The GS Paper II will be qualifying, and minimum qualifying marks are 33% (66.66) marks. The commission will draw a merit list to select candidates for mains examination based on the marks secured in the GS Paper 1 and qualifying marks in GS Paper 2.
