EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
10+2 (Senior Secondary) passed from the recognized Board at the time of filing of application for all Male and Female Candidates.
Note: Candidate seeking employment must ensure that they are native of Sikkim and must have Certificate of Identification and fulfill prescribed eligibility criteria as per subsequent para’s. They should also be in possession of the documents/certificates in the prescribed format in support of their claim at the time of submitting application form.
PHYSICAL MEASUREMENT REQUIREMENTS
Height – 165 cm (for all Male candidates) and 155 cm (for all Female candidates)
Chest – 76 cm minimum with minimum expansion of 4 cm (for all Male candidates only)

Salient features of PE & MT
Three chances will be given to qualify in long jump and high jump.
There shall be no appeal against disqualification in Race, Long Jump & High Jump.
Those candidates who are declared not qualified in Physical Standards, i.e. Height and Chest, may prefer an appeal, if they so desire, to the appellate authority present on the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test ground on the same day. The decision of the appellate authority will be final and no further appeal or representation in this regard will be entertained.
Note: The PE & MT will be of qualifying in nature. Therefore, candidates who do not meet the minimum qualifying standards in any of the above events shall be treated as “not qualified” for the written examination.

Reasoning: Questions will be asked from analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning.
General Knowledge/Current Affairs: Questions are designed to test the ability of the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.
Numerical Ability: This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.

All candidates, who qualify the Physical Endurance & Measurement Tests, shall be put through a written test of one and a half hour (11/2) duration which will carry 100 marks.
The question paper will have 100 questions and will be of objective type and will include questions on Reasoning [35 Marks], General Knowledge/ Current Affairs [50 Marks] and Numerical Ability [15 Marks].
The question paper will be bilingual (English and Hindi).
There will be no negative marking. The date and venue for Written Test will be intimated during PE&MT. There will be no Interview/Viva-voce after the written test.
The merit will be based on the performance in Written Test only.
MEDICAL STANDARD FOR CONSTABLE (EXE.) MALE & FEMALE:
The minimum distant vision should be 6/12 of two eyes (without glasses) and shall be free from colour blindness.
Candidates who have undergone Lasik surgery for improvement of their vision (Eye Sight) will be eligible if their vision (Eye Sight) is found normal after the conduct of the following Tests at the Govt. Hospital:- (Contrast sensitivity, Dim light vision (Mesopic vision) , Glare acuity)
The candidate must not have knock knees, flat foot, varicose vein, loss or deformity of fingers & chest and joints, Halux valgus, halux rigidus, squint in eyes, bow legs and other deformity including loss of any part of body.
The candidates should be of sound state of health, free from defect, deformity or disease likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties. No relaxation is allowed to any category of candidates on this count.

Tips for preparation of written examination
- All candidates should give maximum time to their study regularly.
- Candidates should make their study time or schedule of the day and accordingly start to preparing i.e. make sure to divide your entire time between all related subjects and prepare accordingly daily.
- Candidates requires to maximum use of flow charts and diagram to understand deeply the concern topic.
- Candidates must regular practice to solve old year examination papers; with this you will be able to increase your knowledge as well as time accuracy.
- Group study is very useful to crack any written examination so we therefore advise to all concern contenders to make a group of eligible and suitable friends and study combindly one or two hour in a day and arise your question before them and explain your answer to others too.
- Time breaks is also essential while preparing hard for any written examination so after 2-3 hours study candidates should take a break of 15-20 minutes for mind fresh.
