Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree of a University in India established or incorporated by or under a Central Act or State Act or a Provincial Act or an Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission; or any equivalent qualification in the following subjects:- (I) Agriculture (II) Botany (III) Chemistry (IV) Computer Applications / Computer Science (V) Engineering (Agriculture / Chemical / Civil / Computer / Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical) (VI) Environmental Science (VII) Forestry (VIII) Geology (IX) Horticulture (X) Mathematics (XI) Physics (XII) Statistics (XIII) Veterinary Science (XIV) Zoology.
Physical Requirements
No person shall be eligible for appointment by Direct Recruitment unless:
For Men:
He is not less than 163 Cms. in height;
He has 84 Cms. around the chest on expansion with an expansion of not less than 5 Cms. and
He is able to walk 25 Kms. in Four (4) hours.
For Women:
She is not less than 150 Cms. in height;
She has 79 Cms. around the chest on expansion with an expansion of not less than 5 Cms. and
She is able to walk 16 Kms. in four (4) hours
Provided further that in the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes and races such as Gurkhas, Nepalese, Assamese, Meghalaya, Ladakh, Nagaland, Manipuri, Goutha, Kashmir, Sikkimese, Bhutanese and Tripura, the minimum standard of height shall be as follows:
- Men :152 Cms.
- Women:145 Cms
Note: Common for Men and Women Must undergo a medical Examination to be conducted by the Medical Board at Visakhapatnam and produce a health certificate signed by the Medical Board in the form prescribed by Article 49 of the Civil Service Regulation testifying to the candidates sound hearing and general physical fitness for outdoor work in the Forest Department and to the fact that he bears on his body marks of successful vaccination.

Exam Pattern for APPSC Forest Range Officer 2019
- Exams will be considered as qualifying marks only and duration for these will be 200 minutes.
- Written Exams for number two subjects will be General Studies and one optional paper. Time limit for these exams will be 300 minutes.

- An Interview of 50 marks will be conducted after the online/offline test.
CENTRES FOR THE OFF-LINE (SCREENING) AND ON–LINE (MAIN) EXAMINATIONS: The applicant may choose the Test centre with three preferences. However the Commission reserves the right to allot the applicant to any centre of examination depending on the availability of the resources like centres / systems.
Recruitment Process
The APPSC is further permitted to select candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes or Backward classes or Physically Challenged candidates for Main Examination by applying relaxed standards in the Screening Test / Preliminary Examination, if the Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities are not likely to be eligible for main examination on the basis of general standard in Screening Test / Preliminary Examination in order to fill up the vacancies reserved for them”. Candidates who will come up for selection due to relaxed standards shall be considered against reserved category only
Admit card Important
- Candidates should bring the printout of them admit card in the examination hall.
- Candidates should download their admit card before the date of exam.
- Candidate are advised to validate all the details mentioned on their Admit Card.
- Date, Time and Venue of the Exam will be given on the Admit Card.
- Candidate should bring their Valid ID proof at the time of Exam.
- Candidates are advised to keep their Admit Card safe till the joining. Admit Card will be required at the time of joining.
