Sainik School Kazhakootam, Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala recently released notice for the admission to Class VI & Class IX for the academic year 2020-2021 on its official website. The admission process will be done through the All India Entrance Examination (AISSEE) which will be conducted on January 5th, 2020 (Sunday). The entrance exam will have objective type questions. For Class, IX exam will be conducted only in English medium, for Class VI they can write in English, Malayalam, and Hindi as per their wish. The main aim of the Sainik schools is to provide residential education especially for the students from village areas. These schools serve as a gateway for the students who want to pursue service in Defence services. It will also prepare the students in academics, physical and mental attitude for getting into Defense institutions.
Sainik schools are residential schools for boys to provide Public School Education with military bias up to the higher secondary stage. It follows the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) Syllabus. It follows All India selection & examination and has schools in every state in India. Aim of the Sainik schools is to prepare boys physically, academically and psychologically for entry into National Defence Academy. There are a total of 31 Sainik schools in India.

Exam Pattern
The entrance examination will be conducted based on objective type questions and must be written on OMR Sheet. Questions will be printed in English, Malayalam, and Hindi for Class VI and Only in English for Class IX. For Class IX the Paper Consists of Subjects like Maths, English, General Science and Social Studies with a total of 400 marks. For Class VI there are four sections Maths, GK (Science & SST), Language and Intelligence with a total of 300 marks.
Admission
Admission for Class VI and Class IX will be strictly based on merit and medical fitness only. The merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured by the students. The final mark list will be provided only to the parents/guardian of the students. Fees for the final mark list Rs.100 need to be paid by the parents. The admission application process will be done only online.
