The educational qualification prescribed for this recruitment should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the order of studies viz.10th + HSC or its equivalent + U.G. degree / degree in Law. P.G degree as the case may be as required in Section 25 of Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016. (Results of the prescribed Educational qualification and preferential qualification should have been declared on or before the date of Notification).
Important for Selection List
The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only. The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Written Examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. The number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination will be 10 times the number of candidates to be recruited having regard to the rule of reservation of appointments.
However, in each reservation group, all the candidates who secure the same marks as that of cut off marks of their reservation groups shall also be admitted to the Main Written Examination, though the number of candidates to be admitted to the Main Written Examination may exceed 1:10 ratio.

Important Instruction for TNPSC CCSE 2 Group II 2018 Combined Civil Service Exam
The 20% reservation of vacancies on preferential allotment to Persons Studied in Tamil Medium (PSTM) will apply for this recruitment. (Applicants claiming this reservation should have studied the prescribed qualification for the post in Tamil Medium and should have the certificate for the same.
Their admission to all stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfaction of the eligibility conditions. Mere issue of memorandum of admission to the applicants will not imply that their candidature has been fully cleared by the Commission.
Individual communication regarding the date and time of certificate verification, oral test and counselling (if applicable ) will not be sent to the applicants by post. The details will be made available on the Commission’s website. Applicants will be informed of the above fact only through SMS and e-mail and they should watch Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission’s website in this regard.
If they are found to be in possession of any such things or instruments, they will not be allowed to write the examination further, besides invalidation of answer paper and / or debarment. If it is considered necessary, they will be subjected to thorough physical search including frisking on the spot (For further details refer “Instructions to Applicants”).

The original certificates/documents of successful candidates will be verified for which dates will be notified after declaration of result. On the basis of written test, the provisionally qualified candidates will be required to produce original certificates of Essential and Desirable Qualifications along with one set of photocopy, duly attested,
