Staff Selection Commission 2018 General Duty Police Constable Eligibility
All candidates applying for the recruitment and prima-facie eligible will be called to appear in Physical Standards Test and Physical Efficiency Test at places finalized by the Commission in consultation with the CPOs. Detailed scrutiny of their eligibility will not be undertaken by the Commission before PET/ PST. Therefore, it will be the responsibility of the candidate to verify their eligibility as prescribed in this notice before appearing for PST/ PET.
Note: If you people are looking to get placed at SSC 2018 should possess the 10th Class or Matriculation. Candidates who are applying for GD Constable (BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSF, SSB, NIA and riflemen) are advised to check out the official notification of required qualifications.
Staff Selection Commission GD Police Constable 2018 Selection Process
Written Test: The candidates who had filled the application form for the post of Staff Selection Commission are invited for the written test of the SSC GD Constable Exam. After that qualified candidates will be selected for the next round of competition.
Personal Interview: The candidates who got selected in the written test are called for the personal interview of the SSC GD Constable Exam. The final appointment will be made on the basis of the personal interview and documentation.

Medical Examination:
Candidates will be shortlisted for Detailed Medical Examination (DME) from the pool of
candidates who qualify PET/ PST. At the time of DME, following documents will be
verified:
Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate to prove age, name and educational qualification. Domicile Certificate/ Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) issued by the competent authority.
Certificate from serving defense personnel in the format prescribed at of the notice. Undertaking in the format prescribed in from Ex-Servicemen candidates regarding completion of engagement in Armed Forces.
Caste Certificate in the format prescribed at and VII of the notice from the candidates seeking reservation/ age relaxation. Certificate from candidates who wish to avail relaxation in height/ chest measurement as prescribed in of the notice.
Certificate from District Collector/ District Magistrate in respect of dependent applicants of riot victims as mentioned in category 04/ 05/ 06 under Para-4 (B) of the Notice. Nativity/ Identity Certificate by West Pakistani Refugee in the format prescribed at of the notice

SSC GD Physical Standard for Male Candidates
Height – 170 cm.
Chest – 81 (Unexpanded), 85 (Expanded)
Race – 5 km in 24 minutes.
Long Jump – 14 feet (In three chances)
High Jump – 3’9’’ (In three chances)
SSC GD Physical Standards for Female Candidates
Height – 157 cm.
Chest – There is no chest measurement for female candidates.
Race – 1600 meters in 8.30 minutes.
Long Jump – 10 feet (In three chances)
High Jump – 3’ (In three chances)
Height – Minimum height of candidates will be 165 cms for male and 155 cms for females. The minimum height for all the candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be 162.5 cms for males and 150 cms for females.
Chest: Minimum chest of male candidates will be 78 cms (minimum 5 cms expansion). The minimum chest for all male candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes will be 76 cms (minimum 5 cms expansion)

Those qualifying the height test will be subjected to race of 5 Kms for male and 1.6 KMs for female to be completed within 24 minutes and 8.30 minutes respectively. Those qualifying in the 5 / 1.6 Kms race will be subjected to biometric methods to eliminate the possibility of impersonation by the candidates.
Testimonials and certificates will be checked at the option of the Commission and only eligible candidates will go to the next round. Candidates found eligible after screening of certificates will be screened first for height and weight measurements.

General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, etc.
General Knowledge and General Awareness: Questions in this component will be aimed at testing the candidates general awareness of the environment around him. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
Elementary Mathematics : This paper will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
English/Hindi : Candidates’ ability to understand basic English/ Hindi, his basic comprehension would be tested.
ENGLISH : Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, Synonyms/Homonyms, Antonyms, Spellings/Detecting Mis-spelt words, Idioms & Phrases, One word substitution, Improvement of Sentences, Active/Passive Voice of Verbs, Conversion into Direct/Indirect narration, Shuffling of Sentence parts, Shuffling of Sentences in a passage, Cloze Passage, Comprehension Passage.

- The written exam will be multiple choice objective type.
- Candidates have to choose one correct answer from given four answers (A, B, C, D) for one particular question.
- The written examination will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions carrying 100 marks.
- The time duration will be allowed of 02:00 hours (120 minutes).
- The questions in all the components will be of Matriculation level.
Important Details: Physical Standards and Physical Efficiency Tests are mandatory but are only qualifying in nature and will not carry any marks. Parameters to conduct PET of candidates in are as under:
Male Candidates
- 1 Mile race to be completed in 6:30 minutes.
- 11 Feet long jump (3 chances to be given).
- 3 ½ Feet high jump (3 chances to be given).
Female Candidates
- 800 Meter race to be completed in 4 minutes
- 09 Feet long jump (3 chances to be given)
- 03 Feet high jump (3 chances to be given)
COMMISSION’S DECISION FINAL: The decision of the Commission in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of the applications, penalty for false information, mode of selection, conduct of examination(s) allotment of examination centres and preparation of merit 19 list will be final and binding on the candidates and no enquiry/correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
CENTRES OF EXAMINATION
A candidate must indicate the Centre(s) in the online Application Form in which he/ she desires to take the examination. Details about the Examination Centres and Regional Offices under whose jurisdiction these Examination Centres are located are as follows:
Centre of Computer Based Examination, PET/ PST or Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/ Review Medical Examination (RME) will not be a criterion for selection of the candidates against vacancies of the State/ UT in which such centres are located. Domicile Certificate/ PRC will be the sole criterion for this purpose.

- SSC (Standard 10th) or its equivalent mark sheet.
- Certificate of proof of date of birth (Standard 10th or its equivalent certificate or mark sheet indicating a date of birth or school leaving certificate indicating a date of birth).
- Consolidated mark sheet for all semesters of the trade in which applied / Provisional National Trade Certificate indicating marks.
- National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT or Provisional National Trade Certificate issued by NCVT /SCVT.
